AUD/USD hit fresh highs, approaches 0.9400

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD rose early in Tokyo from 0.9365 to 0.9390, hitting levels above yesterday’s highs. The US dollar weakened across the board pushing the pair to the upside. Price remains near daily highs, currently trading at 0.9388, 0.21% up for the day.

Above the highs immediate resistance lies around 0.9395 - 0.9400 and above here at 0.9425 (April 11, April 14 high) and 0.9460 (April 10 high). To the downside immediate support is located around session lows at 0.9360/65 and below here 0.9330.

With the recent recovery the AUD/USD erased weekly losses and is trading at the same price level it had at the beginning of the week.

EUR/USD clears 1.3830 swing high

EUR/USD was boosted in early Asia, setting a new session high of 1.3835 after recovering from its US losses at the 1.38 intersection.

BoJ Kuroda upbeat, QE as long as needed

Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kuroda reiterated on Thursday his upbeat tone on the Japanese economy, saying that Japan’s economy continues to recover moderately, while adding that Japan is making continuous and steady progress to reach the BOJ’s price target. With reference to QE, Kuroda said that it will be maintained until needed to sustainably meet inflation goals, and based on downside risks to economy. Kuroda also added that Japan’s financial system maintaining stability as a whole.
