Key events ahead for the week - Rabobank

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Analysts at Rabobank noted the key events ahead of the week.

Key Quotes:

"Today we have just seen a ray of sunshine from Japan, with machine orders rising 2.9% MoM vs. 1.5% consensus: hurrah for the BOJ! (Who if we are talking about lines in the sand, are basically creating an artificial desert island similar to the expensive one in Dubai that all the England footballers bought houses). The rest of the day is quiet, however, with the highlight being the Fed’s Evans and ECB’s Mersch speaking, and Chinese property prices along with the US NAHB housing index. Will the former housing series bounce, as the PBOC hopes? And will the latter hold up, or is another area of US economic strength starting to crumble like a sand castle as the tide comes in? (Or goes out, if we are thinking liquidity...)"

"Tomorrow sees the RBA minutes, UK CPI, the German ZEW, and US housing starts(Indonesia also has a rate decision);Wednesday has Japanese Q1 GDP, and the BOE and FOMC minutes; Thursday has manufacturing PMIs, UK retail sales, and US existing home sales, while the Fed’s Fischer speaks; and Friday sees the Fed’s Williams, the German IFO, US CPI, with the week’s climax being Janet Yellen addressing the US economic outlook. Will she specifically throw sand in the eyes of USD or EUR, or of the markets in general?"
