AUD/NZD hits fresh 2-week lows

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The New Zealand advanced against its Oz counterpart in the early European session as the Kiwi bulls took charge on RBNZ Wheeler’s statement to keep interest rates on hold.

Currently, the AUD/NZD pair traded at 1.0535 levels, -0.50% lower on the day, having posted fresh two week lows at 1.0513 levels some time ago. The cross in AUD/NZD fell largely on Kiwi strength after RBNZ Governor Wheeler presented a neutral monetary policy stance and even mentioned of rate cut likely to be on hold for some time, boosted the NZD/USD pair. The losses in AUD/NZD remained capped as the Aussie too regained strength, bouncing back from multi year lows in the previous session.

The cross edges lower as the AUD/USD trades at 0.7826 levels, up 0.42% on the day. While NZD/USD trades higher by 0.81% to trade at 0.7418, at time of writing.

AUD/NZD Technical Levels

The pair has an immediate resistance at 1.0600 levels, above which gains could be extended to 1.0636 levels. On the flip side, support is seen at 1.0513 levels, from here it to below 1.0472 levels.
