EUR/USD hits fresh 2-week low

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The EUR/USD finally broke below the 1.3160 area and stretched to its lowest in 15 days as the USD saw a fresh wave of buying at the beginning of the New York session.

EUR/USD breaks below 21-day SMA

EUR/USD slipped below the 21-day SMA and the former low at the 1.3160 zone and hit a fresh low of 1.3145, last seen June 6. However, the pair managed to hold above that level and it was last around 1.3155, down 0.5% on the day.

On the downside, next supports could be faced at 1.3100 (psychological level) and 1.3188 (100-day SMA), while on the upside, resistances are seen at 1.3250 (daily high) and 1.3300 (Jun 20 high), with the pair likely to look for inspiration from US stocks and bonds.

US equities recover Friday

The US stock market managed to recover a portion of its grim losses incurred yesterday, after the FOMC fallout triggered a widespread correction.
