US equities recover Wednesday

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market managed to open positively and earn back some of yesterdays stark losses amidst a dollar sell-off.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ rose +0.03% as it settles in region of 3438.00, up +1.05 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1630.11, ascending +3.94 points or +0.24% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 15155.52, presently +0.22% after a movement of +33.50 points.

Sectors are all lower at the opening, however the Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, rising +0.45% and +0.60% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1384.64 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $21.88 per oz.
