USD/CHF unable to rise above 0.9700

FXStreet (Córdoba) - USD/CHF is falling modestly on Thursday but remained above 0.9620. The pair started the day trading above 0.9670 but lost momentum and turned to the downside. During the day moved with a downside bias, retreating after reaching 0.9679. Recently printed a fresh daily low at 0.9632.

The Swiss franc so far is the best performer among European currencies today and also for the week, rising particularly against the pound and the euro. EUR/CHF trades at 2-year lows while GBP/CHF below 1.5200 at the lowest in almost four weeks.

USD/CHF consolidating between 0.9620 and below 0.9700

Greenback has been unable to trade above 0.9700 during the current week and weekend near the mentioned level. To the downside, the area around 0.9620 (Nov 11, 12 lows) has become an important short term support and a break below is likely to exposed 0.9600.

GBP/USD hits fresh 14-month low

Following a strong sell-off Wednesday, GBP/USD managed to stabilize in a slim range over the last hours before stretching to a fresh cycle low during the European trade.
