American equity markets start week off positively
FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - The US stock market opened higher Tuesday, after many investors returned after a long holiday weekend. In the United States, the S&P/Case-Schiller Home Price Indices (YoY) grew a steadfast +10.9% in March, beating expectations of +10.2%.
Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ climbed +1.19% as it settles in region of 3500.14, up +41.11 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1666.99, ascending +17.37 points or +1.05% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening, trading in the zone of 15453.97, presently +0.99% after a movement of +150.87 points.
Sectors are all green at the opening, however the Energy and Financial sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, growing +1.32% and +1.20% respectively. In other news, the price of crude is testing USD $95.45/bbl Tuesday.
